Justus Banuel heard the gospel for the first time in 1973. While in high school, he heard a sermon on the radio from Mark 8:36, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Justus Banuel not only accepted Christ, he also accepted the call of Christ to tell the millions of people in India about the Plan of Salvation.

After completing high school in 1975, he attended four years at Brean Baptist Bible College in Bangalore, India. Upon graduation from Bible College, he began working in churches and traveling throughout Southern India telling people about Jesus, but he wanted to do so much more. In 1982, Justus Banuel sent 200 letters to pastors in the United States, asking them for the opportunity to come to their church to learn how to establish Baptist churches. He received an invitation from Dr. Richard White who at the time, pastored Calvary Heights Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1983, Brother Justus accepted Dr. White’s invitation and spent six months in the US, visiting as many churches as possible and learning as much as he could about starting a Baptist church. Then, this modern day Paul, returned to his home in Southern India and began a ministry that now includes 265 Baptist Churches, as well as a Bible Institute where young men are trained to preach the Gospel and pastor churches. Since that time, through the dedication of this servant called by God, over 825,000 souls have been reached, over 75,000 have been baptized and over 300 National Pastors are preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this Hindu Nation.

Brother Justus’ work also includes a Christian school of 900 students and 46 teachers and staff, where the Indian language of Tamil, English, History, Biology, Geography, Math, Botany and The Bible are taught, as well as an Orphan Adoption Program that places orphan children in Christian homes.

Brother Justus and his wife, Isabella, have four children: Linda, Allen, Brenda and Litta.
